8 ANIMAFILM Making of: Creating the film “Boom-Boom”

In this special program, we will take a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the animated film “Boom-Boom”, produced by the Azerbaijan Animation Association. The film’s director, Nazrin Aghamalieva, along with members of the creative team, will share the journey of the project — from the initial idea to the screen — and speak about the challenges they faced and the successes they achieved along the way.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the team, ask questions, and gain deeper insight into what goes on behind the scenes of contemporary Azerbaijani animation.

We invite all artists, film professionals, and cultural sector workers interested in Azerbaijani animation to join this session.

“Boom-Boom” is being produced with the support of the State Agency for Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The film is based on the poem “Boom-Boom”, written for children by the renowned Azerbaijani author Vagif Samadoghlu, and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.

Since 2018, ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival has been a global platform celebrating the art of animation and creativity. Bringing together children, young people, and animation professionals, the festival offers both local and international experiences that inspire and connect.

This year, our theme is cats! Blending creativity with compassion, we’re donating a portion of ticket sales to support cats in need. Through animation, we continue to share values of love, kindness, and community.

– Every ANIMAFILM ticket holder can play video games curated by Dynamic Box on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of September from 12:00–15:00 at Nizami Cinema Center.
 – Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of each event.
 – Seating is open, so feel free to sit wherever you like in the hall.
